Please anticipate the following if you intend to change your server name after installing Venio.
The database instance named is saved in Veniosetup.ini file. If you change the server's name:
A. You will be getting the, 'Could not connect to the database' prompt.
This can be resolved by executing following steps:
1. Navigate to your Venio folder installation, web, and OndemandAPI location. For e.g., "C:\inetpub\wwwroot\VenioWeb\VenioConfigEditor.exe"
"C:\inetpub\wwwroot\VenioOnDemandAPI\VenioConfigEditor.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Venio\VenioFPR\VenioConfigEditor.exe"
2. Update your new name and make sure you save it.
B. You will receive, 'License not found message'.
Once you complete step A, then you will be receiving, 'License not found message'. Go ahead and generate a license request file. Send this file to us and we will be generating a license file for you.
C. When you try to open a project you will receive, 'Project database not accessible' message.
In order to resolve this issue, update you settings from the Configure Server. Provided your updated database server name and hit the update button.
D. The DSM will have the old machine's name and cannot be connected.
In order to resolve
1. Delete the server_id_info.dat file located at "C:\Program Files\Venio\Venio Distributed Service\server_id_info.dat"
2. Then re-start all the Venio services.
3. Now the DSM will show the correct name. Run the health check across all the jobs.
4. Once you re-run heath check, it will clear out the errors.
P.S: Also note that you might need to re-generate the license file since the machine name is changed.
