Venio Console: Health Check Fails for Microsoft Outlook

The problem(s)

• Health check fails for Microsoft Outlook. The error reads:"Microsoft Outlook, check if read-receipt is disabled Test"
• Microsoft Outlook Configuration Test: Microsoft Outlook is not configured properly. Default value for profile 'Venio' is not stored.

• Microsoft Outlook Configuration Test: Microsoft Outlook is not configured properly. Default value for profile 'Venio' is not stored.

Prerequisites
RDP (Remote Desktop) Access to the Distributed Services Server as the service account used by Venio.

Step 1: Log into the Distributed Services Server
Use Remote Desktop or any other method to access the Distributed Services Server.
Log in as the service account that Venio uses to run its services.

Step 2: Download and Use the Dummy Email
Ensure that you have access to the "dummy_email.msg" file.
If not already available, download the attached file and place it in a directory accessible to the server (e.g., C:\Temp).

Locate the file on the server.

Open the file by double-clicking on it. This action launches Microsoft Outlook in a mode that bypasses the need for a user-configured account.

Step 3: Configure Microsoft Outlook
Once Outlook opens using the dummy email file, the account wizard will launch.
click 'Next'

On the 'Add an Email account' screen, click 'No'

Then click 'Next'

On the 'Cancel Email Account Setup screen, select Use Outlook without an email account

Then click 'Finish'

Close the email

Close outlook

Resolution

• Health check fails for Microsoft Outlook. The error reads:"Microsoft Outlook, check if read-receipt is disabled Test"

Open outlook as administrator

File->Options->Mail->Tracking

Select 'Never send a read receipt' option.
