Renaming Project Folder Location

This process updates the project data folder path to a new location in the SQL tables. This is useful when the project data folder name needs changed.

1. Make sure no jobs are running, paused, postponed, or queued and no one is using or accessing the project.
2. Rename the case folder
   1. Before changing:
      Your organization may follow a different but similar structure to the following:
      \\server\shares\projects\2222\VENIO\2222\NativeFiles
      \\server\shares\projects\2222\VENIO\2222\VenioIndexLoc
      \\server\shares\projects\2222\VENIO\2222\FullTextFiles
      \\server\shares\projects\2222\VENIO\2222\TIFF
      \\server\shares\projects\2222\VENIO\2222\HTML
      \\server\shares\projects\2222\WORKAREA\THIRDPARTYPRODS
      Etc…
   2. The Client or PM wants to change the name from ‘2222’ to ‘8888’, so you would rename the folder \\server\shares\projects\2222 to \\server\shares\projects\8888
      Resulting in:
      \\server\shares\projects\8888\VENIO\2222\NativeFiles
      \\server\shares\projects\8888\VENIO\2222\VenioIndexLoc
      \\server\shares\projects\8888\VENIO\2222\FullTextFiles
      \\server\shares\projects\8888\VENIO\2222\TIFF
      \\server\shares\projects\8888\VENIO\2222\HTML
      \\server\shares\projects\8888\WORKAREA\THIRDPARTYPRODS
      Etc…
      1. Notice we do not change the case name .\8888\VENIO\2222 Don't worry, this will be changed later when we rename the project (Step 17)
3. Navigate to Administration > Backup/Restore Project. The Backup/Restore Project dialog will be displayed.
4. Click Next. The Task Option dialog will be displayed.
   
5. Select Move Project Location from the tasks list.
6. Click Next. The Move Project Location Option dialog will be displayed.
7. Select the project that you wish to update the location from the project drop-down list.
8. Select the location of the project from the Data Location Option section i.e., File Location and Index Location.
9. Select the option:
   1. Update Database Only:
      1. If you select Update Database Only option, VenioOne will only change the database entry reflecting the new folder name of the selected Project/Media(s).
10. Click Next.
11. The following will be display
    
12. Choose Move Whole Project, then click ‘Next’
13. Project/Media(s) move process will begin. Status will show the current progress status. When complete, notification that the Project/Media(s) has been moved successfully is displayed.
14. Click OK and then Next. If the Update Database Only option is selected, the following notification will be displayed.
    
15. Click the Save Backup Log link: The backup log will be saved.
16. Click Finish to close the wizard. Note: Please check Saved Backup Log for any update errors.
17. Go to Process -->Project --> Rename
    
18. The following wizard will display:
    
19. Type in the New Project Name, Enable the checkboxes for Rename Project Name, Enable the checkboxes for Rename Project folder name (to match case name), Enable the checkboxes for Rename database (to match case name). Click Rename.
20. You will see this notification
    
21. Make sure no one is logged into case and is aware not to interact with the old or new cases while renaming is in progress. Click yes.
22. IF you see this notification
    
23. Click ‘ok’ then click ‘Save_error_report’. Please save the error report for review. Click close.
24. You should now see your renamed project.
